Engine shock mounts supplied by Lord are the OEM parts designed specifically for each aircraft by make and model. Barry Controls provides shock mounts that are somewhat generic in nature in that one PMA mount kit from Barry might cover a wide range of aircraft. "Our mounts," says Lord representatives, "are designed specifically for the application. There are subtle differences in stiffness and resonating qualities that make mount selection more than a generic application of rubber and synthetic compounds wrapped around a piece of steel."
