When Stuart Vevers, the creative director of Loewe, announced that he would be taking on the position of executive creative director at American fashion label, Coach, in 2013, plans were already in motion to move the brand’s headquarters a short walk away from its old factory building to New York City's Hudson Yards. More than just a typical office, the new 680,000-sq ft location includes work spaces for developing textiles and samples of handbags and clothing, in addition to the usual office amenities. "The program was more varied than most corporate office projects," says Margo Wiltshire of Fisher Marantz Stone (FMS) (New York City), the project's principal lighting designer. "The Coach team was looking for flexibility in the office spaces, with lighting solutions that could work and make sense architecturally separate from the furniture, which was promised to move."
