Hopefully visitors to the National Mall in Washington, D.C., will stick to street-level pathways when touring the sights, but that doesn't make the motorist tunnel below exempt from pedestrian egress safety standards. To that end, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and AECOM specified a system of 33 illuminated 24-in. by 36-in. running man signs and 6,650 linear ft of 2-in. directional chevron tape, both by Light Tape, to guide travelers to the exits.
