摘要

The June 1995 issue of LD+Afocused on the art of entertainment lighting. The cover story described the development of the Sony Theatre at Lincoln Square in New York City. The goal was to evoke the past glory of the Depression-era theater in a modern movie palace. Patrons got their first glimpse of glamour as they entered the theater. Standard architectural downlight cans were used in combination with specialty accents and indirect washes to create the elegance of the entry lobby, and architectural raylights atthe mezzanine level threw reflections of brass stars onto the atrium ceiling. Lighting in the IMAX theater emphasized the grandeur of the space with bold strokes of light offset by a soft blue-gelled fluorescent horizon cove.
