Edward E. Hammer, an inventor, highly respected member of the lighting community and active member of the IES since 1982, passed away in July. He was 80. Mr. Hammer was instrumental in the early development of CFL technology in the 1970s, years before it was able to be produced inexpensively. Mr. Hammer helped to develop many other products, including the F40 watt Miser lamp.
