With the surge of energy efficiency in all aspects of the built environment, lighting science and design is fast becoming and being recognised as a major player. Governments and regulatory authorities now see lighting as a primary driver of energy efficiencies. And, it is not surprising that there is now, and will continue to be, a forensic focus on the credentials and accountability of the people and organisations who provide services for lighting for the built environment and the new world order of energy saving.
