On a global scale, lubricant demand is steady: Year after year, it's neither climbing significantly nor backing down. Yet increased capacity for base oils is popping up left and right all over the world. That means supply and demand imbalance is more pronounced than ever, and producers in every region must continually look for the best possible markets to place out- put-whether that's the back yard or some distant port.
