The truth of this statement is so obvious and so basic that one has to wonder why it is even necessary to bring it up. Books have been written about it, the Internet overwhelms us with advice, and consultants regularly hold seminars to explain it. But some companies - even large ones - still fail miserably in their efforts to gain the kind of customer loyalty which results in repeat sales.
