After more than a decade on the scene, Valvoline Cummins Ltd. has opened its first lubricant blending plant in India. The $30 million plant has capacity to manufacture and package 120 million liters of Valvoline brand lubricants per year, plus potential to expand to 150 million liters. The company is a joint venture formed in 1998 by the partnership of Cummins India Ltd. and Ashland Inc., the Kentucky-based parent of Valvoline. The partnership also has operations in Argentina, Brazil and China. It originally unveiled its plan to build the plant in 2010.
