Asia's base oil producers are aggressively expanding their capacity to satisfy the world's growing appetite for high-quality lubricants.rnAt the ICIS Asian Base Oils & Lubricants Conference in Seoul last month, SK Lubricants CEO Bong Kyoon Park announced a joint venture with Repsol YPF to build a new 13,300 barrel per day API Group Ⅲ plant in Spain by the end of 2013. And SK officials said yet another new Group Ⅲ plant will be announced shortly; to be built at an undisclosed Asian site by 2014, it too will produce over 10,000 b/d of Group Ⅲ base stocks.
