摘要

Plain bearings for railway freight cars are often suffered from surface damage of pitting locally generated on the bearing surface caused by electrical conduction through the bearings, which has not yet been sufficiently clarified. This paper describes characteristics and simulation of the electrical pitting locally generated at the plain bearings. Experimental results show that electrical conduction through the plain bearing specimens only caused the electro-erosion or electrical wear which have been typically observed on the sliding bearings used for various types of machines. When conductive small particles were introduced into the bearing surface, however, the locally generated electrical pitting which is similar to the pitting observed in railway freight cars was reproduced.%本報の研究により得られた結果は以下の通りでrnある.rn(1)貨車用平軸受の電食は一般産業用軸受にみらrnれる面荒れやなし地状の損傷ではなく,軸受rn面の局部的な領域に生じるピット状の様相をrn呈する損傷である.
