Usually, when you're evaluating a PC or console game ported to the iPad or iPhone, the touchscreen controls are a key factor. That doesn't apply to the cult hit Surgeon Simulator, because its creators have deliberately given it terrible controls. In this darkly comical life-or-death sim built around slapstick physics and cartoon graphics, you're Nigel, a clumsy surgeon who bumbles through operations on a patient named Bob. The controls are so inaccurate that you're constantly knocking instruments onto the floor and losing them in Bob's chest. In the iPad version, you don't see your hands; just tap things to grab them and swipe to move them around.
