The advanced picture handling in QuarkXPress 8 helps you create more sophisticated-looking layouts. Clipping paths, for example, let you knock out or hide the background of imported pictures, and control the way text wraps around pictures. Alpha channels use masked areas on an image to let you blend it into the page items around it. The Picture Content tool itself has been revamped to provide powerful positioning and resizing capabilities.rnYou can now import Photoshop PSD files into your projects with layers, and there are several ways you can work with these powerful image formats. However, if you don't have an image editor like Photoshop, QuarkXPress has its own effects and filters to lift your pictures off the page.
