Once upon a time I was a lowly student looking to upgrade my computer to 8MB of RAM. This was a big deal; in the end I couldn't afford it. The reason for this little bout of nostalgia is Crucial - the company has just sent me a press release regarding a new deal for 8GB of RAM. It's extremely reasonably priced at £634 - still a huge amount of money, but a lot less than the £1,293 Apple is charging for memory on its web store.
