If we take all the ingredients that we know are going to be around in the next year or two, we can make pretty accurate predictions on what to expect from Apple. Sure, Apple will always surprise us, but its technology adoption strategy of recent years does give us some excellent indicators of what to expect. Apple will always go with the best technology, whoever makes it - and, within reason, whatever the cost. The first Intel-based Macs will be laptops and probably the desktop Mac mini (which already is based on portable components).
