Apple used the giant US National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) event to introduce new offerings for moviemakers once again this year. The company unveiled a slew of upgraded products, including Final Cut Pro 5 (£699), Soundtrack Pro (£199), Motion 2 (£199) and DVD Studio Pro 4 (£349). Apple is also offering these four products within its Final Cut Studio collection (£899), which Apple calls "the ultimate HD video production suite". HD is Apple's clear focus, as it knows that major firms such as Sky have plans to popularize and support HD in the UK towards the latter end of the year. "We are leading the charge," Rob Schoeben, Apple's vice-president of applications marketing, told MacCentral. "Many people looked at HD support in iMovie this year and said, 'That's a little ahead of its time,'and the reality is, they are absolutely right. But now, the moment HD takes off, every Mac is ready."
