Vice president of worldwide product marketing Phil Schiller introduced the all-new iMac G5 at August's Apple Expo 2004 in Paris. As he introduced the new consumer desktop, it rose rock-star-like to wide applause, on a pedestal from underneath the stage floor. Apple has sold 7.5 million iMacs in the last six years: "that's 2.38 iMacs sold every minute," Schiller explained. The company hopes the new low entry-level price of £919 (including VAT) helps it continue that sales success.
