摘要

Detection and removal of contaminants from the cotton lint plays a major role in deciding the quality of the products. White contaminants and other contaminants similar to that of cotton fibres are difficult to identify, separate during opening and cleaning process, and thereby require efficient detection methods. Machine vision with suitable algorithm provides an excellent solution in detection and removal of contaminants during the processing stage. With recent advancements in the image capturing systems, segmentation and feature extract process, machine vision can effectively detect contaminants and activate the elimination process.
