There were many highlights of the Prime Minister's speech at the 73rd Independence Day wherein he has given India and its citizens a lofty goal of maturing into a $5 trillion economy by 2025. Besides the topic of article 370, the major take away that I gather was improving the quality of existing initiatives be it water conservation, population explosion and development. One of the best way of improving the quality is skilling the producers at all levels of the value chain. Around four lakh people across 18 states will be skilled under 'Samarth', a scheme for capacity building and skilling in the textile sector, as part of agreements signed between the Centre and State governments in August 2019. The skilling would be in all segments of textile value chain.
