摘要

Denim apparels are the most preferred appealers of today's young generation. It is a special wear to regular wear woven. Denim has barged into the acceptance of children, women and men, but the fashion trends favor the faded woven denim that can only be achieved through apparel washing. The aim of the work was to study the effect of bleach wash using bleaching powder on 100 % cotton Sulphur dyed woven denim apparels or jeans. Jeans were washed using three parameters, bleach concentration 5 to 10 gpl, temperature 60 °C and time for 30 minutes. Denim garment and jeans washing is a well-established process for producing fashion items for leisure wear. The evolution of denim washing and different washing techniques are particularly discussed. New environmentally friendly processes leading to zero effluent discharge were identified. In addition, the machines used to achieve different washing effects are reviewed. The quality issues such as the factors affecting washing and problems associated with denim garment washing are also provided as reference points for practical usage and quality assurance.
