Comfort characteristics of cotton knitted fabrics with hollow yarn structuredeveloped by removing the core component of cotton covered PVAcore-spun ring yarns after knitting were studied in this paper. The cottonhollow yarn will have more air space at the centre because of the removalof core component from the structure of the cotton yarn. It will have aspecial and unique structure-low fibre packing density and high bulkiness.Structural parameters such as yarn count, stitch length, wales percentimetre, courses per centimetre, stitch density, geometrical constants(kW, kC and kS), loop shape factor, cover factor, areal density and spiralityof the knitted fabrics have been studied. Cross section of the hollow yarnswas also studied. Stitch length of hollow yarn fabrics is higher than that ofnormal yarn fabrics. Stitch density, cover factor and areal density of hollowyarn fabrics are lower than that of normal yarn fabrics. Higher value ofloop shape factor is observed in the case of hollow yarn fabrics whencompared to normal yarn fabrics. Hollow yarn fabrics exhibit less spiralitythan normal yarn fabrics.
