摘要

Improved multi-voltine variety of Rajshahi silk fabric was dyed with Direct Blue 71 and Acid Red 1 dyes. Among all the modifiers, 20 % tartaric acid modified dyed silk fabrics showed best colorfastness properties after 7 days exposure to simulated sunlight and washing with soap solution. The color of silk fabric became bright when it was dyed with 2.5 % Direct Blue 71 and 2.5 % Acid Red 1 dyes. The optimum dyeing time was observed 70 and 60 min; and the temperature was 70 and 80 ℃ respectively. Acid modified silk fabrics dyed with Direct Blue 71 dye exhibits better colorfastness properties than Acid Red 1 dye. However, the acid modification could reduce the loss in tenacity (%) of silk fabric upon exposure to simulated sunlight.
