摘要

Manufacturing of textiles in the modern era causes pollution to considerable extent. Carcinogenic nature of artificial fiber has many environmental and health concern. Natural fibers are one of the good alternative sources for replacing synthetic fiber and reusing of renewable biomass, because of their eco-friendly in nature. The agricultural biomass is an important and inexpensive source of cellulose and cellulose fiber. Therefore an efficient utilization of such agricultural wastes is of great importance not only for minimizing the environmental impact, but also for obtaining a higher profit. The present article aims at the extraction of fiber strands obtained from Canna Indica stem fiber, agricultural residues. The physico - chemical and structural analysis hierarchical cell structure of these fibers was analyzed through digital microscope and scanning electron microscopic.
