摘要

Present paper gives review about importance of lignin in sun protective clothing. Ultraviolet radiation is classified as UVA, UVB and UVC. The proportion of UVA reached on earth is maximum around 98 %. Because of damage of ozone layer, there is much scope to do dork in field of sun protective clothing. Various researchers find out in their studies that lignin absorbs ultraviolet radiation significantly. Apart from this, it is also established that ultraviolet protection faction of fabric depends on fabric thickness, weave, thread density, linear density of yarn, fibre characteristics, air permeability of fabric, porosity, tightness of weave, type of dye used, type of finishes etc. glass sheet is also capable to absorb UVA radiation. Film of Lignin gives better results for good value of UVPF. At fabric stage, the fibres having rich percentage of natural lignin like hemp, linen are helpful to serve purpose of sun protective clothing. Studies also show good results at fabric stage in coating of lignin."
