Comparative Study of Poly and Eco-friendly Packaging Bags

摘要

One of the most dangerous threats to the environment is the increased use of polyethylene bag which has become a threat to plant life, human life, soil, water and ecosystems. In this study, an endeavor has been made to compare the poly-bags and eco-bags in terms of their physical properties, chemical properties, decomposition, advantages and disadvantages and cost. The results show that the poly-bags have good resistance against acid, alkali, water and sunlight. They are cheaper and durable than the eco-bags but non-biodegradable and non-compostable. On the other hand, eco-bags are biodegradable and reusable but showed limitations for liquid material carriage.
