At the cost of repeating myself, I draw attention to the plentiful monsoon this year. News dips keep pouring in from all quarters reporting the good effects of the rains and the likelihood of bumper crops. The recent rainfall is good for chilly, paddy and sugarcane crops, But incessant rainfall could cause excessive damage. The finance Minister has already commented that the monsoon could help agricultural growth and spur the overall economy. Moreover, rains invariably make everything lookgreen. It is also when it is raining that you get to tend to those beautiful plants in your garden, on your window sill and the backyard. Crotons and flowering plants are the best ones to grown during the monsoons. One such flowering plant to bloom is Asctepias syriacqa or common milkweed. The name "common" fits the plant well because when not in bloom, it goes pretty much unnoticed, growing humbly along roadsides, in fields, and in wastelands. However, no country dweller can fail to notice this unique, elegant plant once laden with fragrant, multi-colored blossoms.
