In may 2011, the nonwovens producer san-dier ag inaugurated its new "plant 4" in schw.arzenbachigermany. The top floor is used as a warehouse. The lower floor houses the centerpiece of the € 40 million investment: a new spun lace nonwoven production line. In this plant, hydroentanglement technology is used to produce a new generation of materials for care and cleaning wipes as well as technical nonwovens. Sandier has 3 production plants in this fast-growing area alone. In terms of sustainability, sandier is able to produce more than just nonwovens made from biodegradable and pla-based polylactide fibers.
