Tripur's textile companies are hopeful that their dyeing woes will begin to ease by december. About 200 dyeing units in tirupur, of the 720 ordered to be shut by a court in january for polluting river noyyal, will resume operations by the end of the year, according to three industry officials. The units being reopened, monitored by the pollution control board and a panel constituted by the madras high court, will initially operate only at 30% capacity. "they will give us step-by-step approval" added s sakthivel, executive secretary, tirupur exporters association. Three common effluent treatment plants for these units will be operational.
