The US company Eastman Chemical Co., Kingsport/TN, presented new EastONE S112 water dispersing copolyester for microfiber nonwovens (bicofibers). ExxonMobil Chemical has a broad range of PP polyemers for spunbond nonwoven production including the metallocene PP Achieve 3854 as well as specialty polymers for meltblown nonwovens. The polyester fiber producer Trevira GmbH, Bobinger/Germany, has revised the trademark system for textiles made from its antimicrobial fibers and is now introducing a new product logo for Trevira Bioctive. Irrespective of what is used for the material - it may be mi-crofilament yarns, low-pill fibers or stretch yarns - where it's a question of accentuating the antimicrobial function of the textiles, then manufacturers may now use the new symbol for freshness and hygiene: "made by Trevira".
