CI Mordant Black 11 is famously known for Melanging of protein fibers. In this paper, the various colour obtained from CI Mordant Black 11 when mordanting with five different mordants in three different concentrations with three mordanting methods on silk and nylon fabrics and its fastness to light and washing have been analyzed. This dye forms coordination complex of grey hue with purple, brown and reddish tone with different mordants and they show moderate to very good fastness property. The fastness is better in nylon fabric than silk fabric and in post mordanting method than other methods.
