A brief review of nylon fibres formation is presented with basic reactions relation involved during manufacture. The chemical and physical properties of nylon fibres in relation to dyeling is also outlined in connection with the dyeing characteristics of nylon materials. The range of dyes available for dyeing polyamide fibres are also included together with binding forces between dye and fibre and mechanism of dyeing nylon with acid dyes. This review gives better understanding of nylon fibre formation and theory of dyeing nylon fibres.
