摘要

This paper describes the synthesis of 2,8-diamino-5,10-dihydro-10-hydroxy-5-5methylphenophosphazine 10-oxide as a possible replacement for the benzidine moiety in some well-known carcinogenic benzidine-based azo dyes. This compound was tetrazotized and coupled to different coupling components and the dyes derived were applied to cotton, furnishing purple to brilliant blue dyeings. The wash fastness properties were evaluated. The results of this investigation suggest that this diamino compound has potential for replacing benzidine in some benzidine-based azo dyestuffs.
