McCormick & Company Inc. has announced it has purchased 100 percent of the shares of Fona International, LLC, a privately held company, for $710 million in cash. The acquisition is intended to reinforce McCormick's global growth strategy, with Fona expanding the breadth of McCormick's flavor solutions while extending the company's technology platform. Fona's portfolio complements McCormick's, and will provide a more comprehensive product offering to meet demand for clean and flavorful eating, drinking and nutrition experiences. McCormick plans on retaining the well-recognized Fona International brand. Hunt Valley, Maryland-based McCormick & Company manufactures, markets and distributes spices, seasoning mixes, condiments and other flavoring products for the industrial, restaurant, institutional and consumer markets. Fona International is a flavor producer with a focus on nutritional and natural products headquartered in Geneva, Illinois.
