摘要

Life in the modern workplace can be difficult at the best of times, while being hardpressed is increasingly becoming the accepted norm. Corporate culture, finance, staffing, clients, competition and the administrative burden that underpins it, all contribute to the pressure we inevitably feel when we have things to do that we simply don't like. There is an irresistible temptation to search for a quick fix, one cure-all approach that will improve or guarantee business results. But deep down we all know that any such magic solutions don't exist, and that there is no real substitute for applying oneself, hard work and, in the case of addressing uncomfortable issues, simply getting on with it. These uncomfortable issues lurk in the recesses of the 'discomfort zone'.
