摘要

This report analyses the retail market for non-Rx analgesics in Germany. For the purposes of the study, Euromonitor has divided the market into the following five sectors: 1. Aspirin, includes all non-Rx systemic analgesics with aspirin as the active ingredient; 2. Acetaminophen, which includes all non-Rx systemic analgesics with acetaminophen (paracetamol) as the active ingredient; 3. Ibuprofen, which includes all non-Rx systemic analgesics with ibuprofen as the active ingredient; 4. Combination products, which includes all non-Rx systemic analgesics using a combination of aspirin and acetaminophen as active ingredients; 5. Topical analgesics, which includes all topically-applied products which are primarily intended to relieve muscular pain. The present report takes into account both pure OTC sales as well as sales of prescribed non-prescription semi-ethical analgesics, which may or may not be subsidised by the state. Other OTC and prescribed non-prescription products based on active analgesic ingredients, but intended for purposes other than straightforward pain and menstrual relief, are specifically excluded from this report and are covered elsewhere in the series of Euromonitor reports on non-prescription medicines.
