In July 2014, the first International Masonry Society Student Project Awards were inaugurated, with one of these to be named the Arnold Hendry Postgraduate Prize. Submissions were invited of work in which the principal focus of the student project was in masonry. Following the recommendations of the judging panel, two awards have been made, both of which were of a high standard. The Arnold Hendry Postgraduate Project Prize for 2014 has been awarded to Sarah Petry, a doctoral student in the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics Laboratory, at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, Switzerland.
