摘要

With the aim to elucidate the transformation paths producing complex martensitic structures, the elementary mechanisms of collective atomic motion in diffusionless phase transformations are investigated using simple geometrical models. Relationships of the structures created by different mechanisms are summarized and the role of various planar crystal defects is examined. It is shown that in addition to intrinsic stacking faults so-called centred stacking faults can be considered and besides single-layer atomic shuffling the shuffling of atomic plane triplets can also occur.
