The latest (2014) impact factor of Materials Science and Engineering R: Reports (announced by Thomson Reuters in June 2015) is 15.500 [1] up from 11.789 the year before [2]. I am very pleased to introduce three new Editors of Materials Science and Engineering R: Reports who all started on 1 January 2016. They are Professors Thomas Anthopoulos (Imperial College, London, UK), Surya Mallapragada (Iowa State University, USA) and Bradley D. Olsen (MIT, USA). All three of them have been until now Associate Editors of the journal.
