Scope Materials Science & Engineering R: Reports publishes invited review papers covering the full spectrum of materials science and engineering. The reviews, both experimental and theoretical, provide general background information as well as a critical assessment on topics in a state of flux. Submission of Electronic Text All correspondence, including notification of the Editor's decision and requests for revisions, will be by e-mail. Printing of Colour Illustrations Illustrations can be printed in colour when they are judged by the Editor to be essential to the presentation. The publisher and the author will each bear part of the extra costs involved. Further information concerning colour illustrations and the costs to the author can be obtained from the publisher.
