摘要

A numerical study is preformed to study the transient as well as non-Darcy effects on laminar free convective flow in a vertical channel partially filled with a porous medium by using finite- difference method. Brinkman-Forchheimer extended Darcy model is assumed to simulate momentum transfer within the porous medium. The two regions are coupled by equating the velocity and shear stress in the case of momentum equation while matching of the temperature and heat flux have been taken for thermal energy equations.
