In this paper, the one-dimensional, time-dependent model of McCaffery et al. (1997) for the computational prediction of the behaviour o 'proppant' particles, such as sand, across the width of an inclined, fluid-filled fracture channel during a hydraulic fracturing treatment is extended into two dimensions. That is, the fracture channel is now considered to be finite in height as well as finite in width, the length of the fracture channel remaining infinite. It was found that the settling rate is enhandced, by a factor of up to 3.5, when the fracture channel is inclined over that in an identical vertical channel.
