The model of strip flatness in cold rolling consists of coupled models of plastic deforma- tion of the strip in a roll bite, elastic deformation of the roll stack and formation of residual stress in the strip after rolling. Which are usually solved via an iterative procedure. Generally, convergence of standard iterative algorithms can be achieved only by introducing an underrelaxation parameter. The substantial computational cost and the fact that the underrelaxation parameter requires adjustment for different mill schedules represent the main obstacles to online application of the model in flatness control devices.
