In this paper we define the φ-spatial numerical range (Definition 2.1) as well as the global numerical range (Definition 3.1) in the context of nonnormed topo-logical algebras and in terms of them we give some characterizations of the C~*-property (Theorems 2.1, 3.1) which are new even in the setting of normed algebras.
