Certain procedural problems related to the measurement of the velocities of large particles are studied by means of laser Doppler anemometers. Issues related to maintaining the accuracy of the measurements are considered. A description of an experimental unit and technique for test measurements of the velocities of large particles needed in the study of heterogeneous flows by means of laser Doppler measurement are presented.
