Having written for Meat&Poultry for more than a decade, Larry began his journalism career as a sportswriter in 1985. He jumped at the chance to write this month's cover story (see "Athletic Approach," Page 32) about past and current athletes who are now competing in the meat and poultry industry. Larry was struck by the level of knowledge the athletes have about the meat-processing industry. "They all seemed relieved to know that I didn'trnwant to talk about sports, but that I was interested in finding out more about their businesses," says Larry. "This was one of my favorite assignments I've been given."
