The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is currently developing a new strategic plan for the nation's energy policy, which Secretary Federico Peria has made one of his top priorities. The secretary intends to have Congress briefed on the new plan this summer, with the final draft submitted by Aug. 15. The process of developing the new plan will involve customers and stakeholders, including Congress, federal agencies, state and local governments, safety groups, professional organizations, and others participating at various levels.
