The published version of the paper "Circularly-symmetric Complex Normal Ratio Distribution for Scalar Transmissibility Functions. Part I: Fundamentals" [Mech. Syst. Signal Process. 80 (2016) 58-77] fails to clarify two points clearly. Therefore, the paper should be read in conjunction with the following notes: The Probability Density Function (PDF) of the univariate complex normal random variable L/, can be deduced directly from theorem 1: where ρ~R and ρ~3 denote the real and imaginary parts of the complex correlation coefficient ρ; u~R_1 and u~3_1 denote the real and imaginary parts of u_1. It is worth noting that the above equation is the same as what was derived previously by Baxley and his co-workers [1], which has been applied in the literatures [2-5]. When we carried out this research, we were not aware of the work by Baxley et al. In our work, however,pu_1 (u_1) was derived by employing the principle of probabilistic transformation of random vectors, which was different from Baxley's approach based on the derivative of the Cumulative Density Function (CDF) of U_1, indicating that different roads lead to the same Rome.
