摘要

The Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) introduced Long Term Evolution (LTE) 4G network to satisfy the growing needs of mobile network applications, such as Video conference, VOIP and web browsing. However, 3GPP did not provide standards for packet scheduling which is the main key that controls LTE Quality of Service (QoS). Packet scheduling is the process of choosing which packet will be sent or received at which time using specific frequency. In other words, it manages radio resources distribution to achieve specific targets based on scheduling algorithm used. Some algorithms have the target of achieving maximum throughput, others have the target of achieving maximum user satisfaction... etc.. In this paper, packet scheduling algorithms with channel aware strategies will be considered along with their effects on network performance. LTE-SIM is an open source simulation program is used to study the performance of different algorithms and it is installed on the Linux Ubuntu operating system. In simulations, different numbers of users, different user speeds and different delay thresholds have been used to show the effect of each of them on the network performance.
