For the first time also using post-consumer cotton waste, the producer of cellulosic fibers, Lenzing AG, Lenzing/Austria, was able to produce its Tencel lyocell fibers Refibra successfully. The result was presented at Heimtextil from January 7-10, 2020 in Frankfurt/Germany.The product is part of the company's second phase of the Refibra technology upgrade by incorporating up to 10% of post-consumer cotton waste into the current mixture of 30% recycled materials alongside pre-con-sumer cotton waste.To ensure transparency, Lenzing uses a technology to identify "Tencel ⅹ Refibra" fibers so that consumers can be sure that the fibers of their final product actually contain recycled materials.Lyocell fibers with Refibra technology will be used for sustainable home and interiors products.
