The merger between the textile machinery manufacturer Karl Mayer Textilmaschinen-fabrik GmbH, Obertshausen/Germany, and the manufacturer of flat knitting machines H. Stoll AG & Co. KG, Reutlingen/Germany, was completed on July 1, 2020. Karl Mayer is now the leading provider of solutions for the 2 most important stitch-forming processes, flat knitting and warp knitting. The company's entire expertise in the fields of warp knitting and flat knitting, as well as technical textiles, warp preparation for weaving, and digital solutions is now under one roof. Stoll will continue its activities within the Karl Mayer Group as an autonomous business unit. The brand will be carried on independently. The previous CEO, Andreas Schellham-mer, will become President of the Stoll business unit within the Karl Mayer Group. Stoll will be moving with its premises from the site at Stollweg in Reutlingen, to the Reutlingen-Betzingen industrial estate, where it will continue its activities under the new owner, as planned. Already in 2004, Stoll relocated its production to the location in the Mark West Industrial area in Reutlingen. Over the course of 2 project stages, a development center will first be built, and later a customer center will follow, in order to accommodate the other business units.
